It is that time of year.
Make a resolution; lose weight, eat healthy, save money, watch less TV, drink less coffee, eat less sweets...the list of common resolutions is VERY long. Do you ever actually keep them? I am pretty much always a failure when I try to change something about myself on January 1st.
But this year I want to ADD something to our lives. And it is something that the girls and I do almost perfectly already so I think for the first time I might just be setting myself up for success!
EVERYDAY OUTDOOR PLAY!
Now everyday might not be a great game, hike or long adventure but in some way we will be silly, have fun or explore the outdoor world around us for at least a moment. It is about making a conscious decision to get my kids outside EVERYDAY in 2012.
I won't blog about it everyday and I may not blog about the resolution on days when we do go outside. I am not trying to add alot of extra online work for myself. But I am putting my resolution out there as a way to help hold myself a bit more accountable this year. And I would love to have you join us!
I don't have a button up yet (but it will be momentarily!) so grab it if you would like and let me know that you will be getting outside everyday with us! We can check in with each other and help each other out with ideas and inspiration throughout the year. I would love some company!
Eva and I will be joining you on this resolution! I tend to hibernate when it gets cold so this is the motivation I need to get us outside everyday.

We are definitely in! We'll mark it on the calendar :) Thank you for the great resolution idea!

SO glad to have you join us! Couldn't agree with you more about the hibernating thing. Plus getting the kids all bundled up all that gear is just so hard, much easier just to stay in! But outside play and fresh air is SO good for them that I need to fight the urge to be lazy. Can't wait to hear what you guys do!

Yay! It will be so much more fun to have other moms that are doing this too. Thanks for joining me and GOOD LUCK!

We're up for the challenge! In fact this is already on our resolution lists!

Sounds like a great plan. There are days when I really don't want to, but it makes all days better. Even just a quick game of tag after lunch before story snuggles or a quick walk before dinner!

This is so great that so many moms are making this a priority in 2012! I love that. Be sure to keep me posted on how it is going!

Alright since you are local I will certainly be keeping tabs on how you are doing! We can help motivate each other on those really cold WI days that we know are destine to show up sometime soon!

oh My GOSH! we have been working towards this goal for several weeks and just agreed to make it our 2012 resolution! it can be difficult here in the mid-Atlantic on these "miserable" months....but so awesome to know others are like minded! today we did a 30 minute walk in the woods - and came home entirely different people ... well our toes were frozen, but different in good ways too :-) So glad to have found you all!

Alright, already. Here it goes. If we can do it in the dead of winter, we should be able to survive the rest of the year! Looking forward to seeing how it changes our lives...
