Just wanted to share a few books that we will be enjoying the weekend.
We found one that we had before and even though Sam recognized it she wanted it again so I said sure.
Whoo Goes There? by Jennifer A. Ericsson
To see a write up for this book you can click over to the Must See Children's Books and scroll down to the animal section.
In My Dreams I Can Fly, by Eveline Hasler and Kathi Bhend
This is such a silly book and has parts that are complete fantasy but also has so much fun information packed in there. It reveals an underground world that my little girls are fascinated by. Plus it is fun to read stories about what insects do during winter. A silly but educational read!
Granddad's Fishing Buddy, by Mary Quigley
I dream of a day when my girls can take fishing/camping/hiking trips on their own with either of their grandpa's. I had a dad that took me on lots of trips but never a grandpa that I did things like that with. I think it would be really special for them to be able to do that. Anyway, this story is very cute and the surprise fishing buddy actually gives kids a great time about fishing!
How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin?, Margaret McNamara
Counting pumpkin seeds is absolutely something that Sam and I will do this fall so when I saw this book at the library I had to check it out. The message in this book is about how there is big value in small packages (relating it more to people than pumpkins!) but the story also shows a fun class project and has some really interesting facts about pumpkins.
Sam has asked me several times today how many seeds I thought were in each of the pumpkins we have. She is now very anxious to cut them open and find out! She also wants to go and get a MUCH bigger one to count those seeds too.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
