Hello to all my GREEN MAMAs! Welcome to any new readers that might be stopping by. This week I thought I would share something extra with the hop just because I am SO in love with my homemade laudry soap right now. I have been using this powder homemade laundry soap now for almost a year and it works great on our clothes. But in the last few months I have discovered the many other uses for the soap mixture. I have it in a spray bottle to help me quick rinse the cloth diapers before they wait to go in the laundry, I use it as a stain pre-treater (also in a spray bottle) AND it works GREAT for getting stains out of our carpet. Just a TB in a spray bottle, good shaking and presto instant homemade carpet cleaner. Love that. (effectiveness depends on type and level of staining of course).
Anyway, I just thought I would share this recipe in case any of you might not be doing homemade laundry soap yet and might want to try it out. I make the recipe in BIG batches so that I don't have to make it all the time.
1 bar ivory soap (grated up as finely as you can)
1/2 cup borax (found this is my laundry isle)
1/2 cup washing soda (also found this in the laundry isle)
Mix the three ingredients and store in an air tight container. Use just 1-2 Tablespoons per load.
I got this recipe from here and they have other options too if you don't like this one.
Now, on with the Hop!
The Nitty Gritty!
Edited later to add -
Decided just to make the green mama bog hop the one post from today. Recently read on a pro-bloggers site that readers don't like bloggers that post more than once a day! If you want to see the outdoor fun that we had today check out our facebook page!

Oooh I've been looking for a fab recipe for washing powder! The shop brought stuff is making me itchy!!!!
We have 6 kids in our household and lots of grubby sports gear to get clean on a Saturday ... so I need a fairly hardworking sort of a mixture. I am definitely going to give this a try!!

Home made laundry soap? Is it cloth diaper friendly? I'd love to read more about that. I am gearing up to make my first batch of bar soap for use at home.
Thanks for the feature via Green Blog Hop. I was not expecting to be featured. So cool.
