On last week's green mama blog hop I shared my homemade laundry detergent recipe. So glad that several of you enjoyed it and/or found it useful. Today I am sharing our beginnings of line drying!
My husband is not totally sold on the idea of a permanent clothes line or or his clothes hanging outside for the world to see. But I would love to have one! And am determined to make it happen. So, we have started. Using the dog's rope and our deck, Sam and I hung all the girl's laundry out to dry today.
It was great to get her involved. Explaining to her why we were doing the laundry this way and how to do it. She always enjoys helping me with things and this was no different. Her job was the clips and she stood by my side handing clips when I asked.
But I still need more help. Help from you all!! I am hoping that all the experienced green mamas on here might have lots of great posts on using a clothes line. Posts that are filled with trips, tricks and stories all about the benefits of line drying. So, if you have such a post PLEASE link it up today (even if you have already linked up go back and link up again to a specific post!). Can't wait to hear how other's line drying journies.

I love the idea of line drying and in fact fell in love with a house last year simply because it had an old clothesline in the yard. HOWEVER. For my kids it would be so bad for them to have all the pollen and outside junk on their clothes all day you know? We change Gray's shirt every day for naps so he doesn't roll around in pollen in his bed. I wish there was a way to line dry and not have to worry about allergens filling their clothes!

Couldn't resist joining in because I just put up a post about line drying laundry yesterday. No tips or advice, just a "laundry line goodness" kind of post :)

Abs - your blog is awesome :)
I'm also really excited that you have joined us in "hang-dry land". Kids clothes stink. STINK! They are super small so like 50 pieces fit into one large load :(
One thing my grandma taught me (she couldn't believe that i voluntarily hang my clothes event though I have a dryer, but then again, she's never seen our electric bill) is that if you hang shirts upside down, you won't get crazy creases in the shoulders. Like, hang shirts by the bottom instead of the shoulders or sleeves, that way the pin won't make the shoulders look all nuts once they are dry and the sleeves will dry while hanging naturally

oh that's funny - I totally misunderstood the link submitting thing. Haha - well, that's my post about hanging up diapers ;P
