We do a ton of outdoor play! Everyday we are outside learning, running, soaking up the sun and fresh air and of course, PLAYING! So when Kate, from the Amazing Child, asked me to be a part of the Outdoor Play Link Up I was super excited.
So, let the fun begin!
Here is our week outdoors....
We had a chance this week to check out a great Madison area park; Glenwood Children's Park.
So what can I say about the Glenwood Children's Park? I saw both of my girls explore, run, play and push their limits more than they ever do at the typical playgrounds. Sam didn't need encouraging to try out walking on a log, she jumped up and wanted to try. Avery walked up and down slopes that are much steeper than anything she has tried before, she entered forts and explored rocks. Sam dug her hands into the soil to get a good hold as she climbed up a steep hill. She held on to rocks with her hands as she stepped from one to the other.
Learning outdoor exploring skills like these are the things that a lot of kids do not get a chance to do. They can't happen from playing a video game. OUTDOOR PLAY! Every child needs it and unique parks like this one make it even more amazing. Hoping green spaces like this will become more the trend for parks instead of massive manufactured playgrounds.
Okay, now it is YOUR TURN! Share your week outdoors with us. There is nothing better than getting more ideas for outdoor play with our kids so LINK UP or comment and share your ideas!

Very nice reading! We should do some outdoors with our kids. It has scientifically proven that if kids play outside regularly then it makes them more active and physically and mentally healthy.
