So I am 0-2. No I am not talking about my March Madness bracket which is done. Stupid Louisville getting beat by Morehead.
But no, if you saw my list the other day of upcoming events in the Nitty Gritty you are probably wondering where the guest post is over at Campfire from me and where the guest post on here is. Well, you all know, LIFE HAPPENS! Blogging world is only human after all. So bear with me, events will happen at some point and you better believe you will be the first to know when they do! HA!
SO, instead of a guest post about how to have less waste today you are getting a family post.
A comment yesterday and then a post from Verde Mama reminded how much I wanted to hit up the Olbrich Botanical Garden right now to see what was blooming and catch it in the early spring phase. Did not even realize it was the Spring Flower Show going on right now. So we drug all the kiddos out to the garden to see what we could find!
And there were so many great colors that I have a bunch of pictures to share!
We were handed two pieces of paper when we walked into the Spring Flower Show; a flower guide and a bicycle guide (amongst the flowers were old and new bicycles that were AMAZING!). They made for the best scavenger hunts and we had to suggest to the kids when it was time to go outside. I think we could have had them hunting for different flowers and bicycles for hours!
I couldn't resist capturing this photo of last year's blooms still trying to hold on! Just too cool.
We would have spent a TON more time exploring the garden and seeing some actual outdoor blooming flowers but a certain four year old (ahem, Parker Jane!) decided to not listen to Pawpaw when he said not to play too close to the icy water fountains. She did and we all ended up having to hurry as we carried a soaking wet Parker back to the car! She went in almost up to her shoulders! Poor kid was cold all day.
But thank you to the AMAZING woman that offered up her baby blanket, and wouldn't even let me take down her name, so that Parker could be a little bit warmer on the way back to the car. It is those little kindnesses that truly make this world amazing!
