Chris got brave today! Brave enough to battle the VERY cold temperatures. Brave enough to bundle Sam up and battle her crabby mood. I was thrilled. She got some outside time and got a brake from the crabbiness.
You can't really tell but she is on her little practice skiis. She doesn't like the poles but loves her skiis. She would get on Chris's cross country ski tracks and was able to move herself around a little bit. It was pretty cute. We are excited to get her into ski classes next winter.
Check out our messy, busy birds! Funny that they like the ONE little store bought bird feeder and don't seem to have quite the same fondness for my wonderful homemade bird feeding station. RUDE!
And check out how cool the ice sculpture is!
Isn't that AWESOME? It looks so cool and even though it is really cold the sun is doing its best to melt the sculpture. So fun to watch the way it changes from day to day.

The Nitty Gritty!
I have a tracking birthday party that I am "teaching" tomorrow that should be pretty fun. I have several good activities lined up and then (if all the kids are dressed warmly enough!) we will head outside for some great tracking. Excited to get out into the field with the kids.
Random question for my loyal readers.... I have been thinking about doing some "looking back" posts. Kind of recaping some of our favorite projects, maybe compiling all the birding related projects or some of topic. I am just wondering if this would be interesting and helpful or annoying. Please chime in and let me know what you think.
Abbie- personally, I would love a track back compilation series or post... I know that I don't always have time to read all of the posts out there. When I find a blog I enjoy (like yours) I don't always have the time to read the archives of posts that were in existence prior to my finding the blog. Track backs and links within posts really help me find other ideas/posts of interest to me. I don't know how other people feel, but that's my take on it.

I agree. Less work for the readers. Brrrr....it's freezing today! Sam is very brave!

The ice sculpture looks awesome. Our temps are going into the 40's by the weekend so I won't be able to make one until the next cold spell.
