I don't really know what to call this but I think it is going to turn out pretty neat!
And super simple!
We gathered some items from our dried plant material box.
And I grabbed a disposable pie plate and a piece of fun ribbon.
Sam arranged the items on the plate the way she wanted them.
And then we filled the pie plate with water and set it outside to freeze.
Once it is frozen we will pop it out of the pie plate and be able to hang it up on a tree in the yard. I have heard that it will look amazing when the light bounces off of it! Sam is very excited to get to pick where in the yard we hang it. Which will hopefully happen tomorrow!

The Nitty Gritty!
Not sure what I was thinking but I had Sam all excited and convinced that we would have it hung up today. Apparently I think water more than 2 inches thick can freeze solid in just a few short hours, HA! A
Anyway, hopefully by tomorrow it will be frozen. But it has been neat to watch Sam going to the window to check on it, to see how the water has changed, to see what has happened; a great lesson for her on how water freezes. I think it will also be neat this spring to watch it melt and fall apart, another good lesson.
This one almost makes me wish we had the cold temps to try it! Hope it turns out lovely.

Oh I love those things! Yours looks great even not frozen.

I think the beauty of this is that it can be stuck in a freezer and hung out - even in the summer time. I've got snow stored in my freezer, waiting for a summer day... :)

I love this idea too! Art and science all in one activity!
