Hip Hip Horray!
What an honor! Thank you so much Cheryl at Time to Craft. So exciting that she got an award and then that she thought of ME to pass it along to. Cheryl is an amazing mom that lives in the most beautiful setting. I am envious of the energy, talent and creative skills. She does the most amazing crafts with her kids and they have such great outdoor play. I aspire to be a mom like her someday!
So the rules to accepting this award -
- Thank and link back to the person that gave you the award.
- Share seven things about yourself.
- Pass it along to 15 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy.
- Leave your recipients a note telling them about the award.
Seven things about myself? hmmm...
- I have watched so many criminal shows that I am actually afraid of being in the dark by myself. Sitting at a cabin in the woods on Friday night while waiting for the girl scouts to show up was both relaxing and terrrifying. We have all seen a show or movie where a woman gets hacked to pieces in a cabin in the woods!
- My favorite color is blue (they can't all be so deep!).
- I don't ever seem to be satisfied with the house I am living in. We just moved in to a great house last spring but I have already put plans into motion to get estimates on redoing the deck and/or kitchen! I blame this on having a contractor for a father. Whenever updates needed to be made to our houses growing up it was pretty easy to find someone to do them! Not that my dad did them most of the time, my mom would just grab one of the guys and tell them what she wanted done!
- If I could truly justify the cost I would continue to take college classes just for the learning opportunities!
- I am in a fantasy football league!
- I hate doing my children's laundry more than I hate doing my own. There clothes are just so little, I think they are harder to fold!
- I am an athlete without a sport. I grew up playing lots of team sports but none of them were the typical life-long kind of sports. I played field hockey (have you even heard of that one?), lacrosse, softball and swimming. There really aren't that many competitive opportunities in those sports for adult women.
Okay, not earth shattering kind of facts but maybe there is something in there that you didn't know about me!
Now to pass along the award.
I am going to break down the blogs I am mentioning into categories -
First up are teachers. I think teachers are serisouly versatile people and there are some truly amazing ones out there.
- I'm A Teacher Get Me OUTSIDE Here! Juliet is incredible. If we ever visit Scotland I am looking her up. She sets up the most amazing outdoor play spaces.
- Child Central Station is a must visit. She does things with a whole group of kids that I wouldn't dare doing with one!
- And of course, Teacher Tom! People of Seattle WHY would you choose any other school for your little ones?
Next category is versatile moms that inspire me.
- The Activity Mom. I get SO many good ideas from here. Incredible.
- Little Learners Lounge is another great place to visit if you need fun ideas for your little one. Love that she is passing on her passion!
- Counting Coconuts. I have used enough of her ideas that you should be very familiar with this amazing mom!
- Peach Coglo. If you don't visit her because her writing and pictures are great, or because she has great ideas, or because she is an amazing artist (who was recently in her first art show!) then you must visit to check out her book lists! Seriously some really great book lists!
- A great outdoor mommy! Adventuroo And if you need help with all things social media she is a great resource! Recent post on her five favorite things was a must read!
And lastly some versatile green mommas that blow me away!
- Momma Rae. Her kids are blessed to have her!
- Natural Suburbia. Oh if only I could sew. You have to go and check out all the amazing things she is making for the holidays.
- Earth Mama. So the mom I want to be someday!
- Clean. This momma not only lives the simple life very connected to her surroundings that part of me longs for but she makes the most amazing organic bath and personal care products ever!
Okay, I didn't make it to 15 but I got close! Hope you check out at least a few of these amazing ladies and gentleman! Heading off now to let them know I have passed along the award.
Happy Sunday!

Congratulations on your award, Abbie! You definitely deserve it! I loved reading what you wrote about yourself - it's always nice to get to know someone a bit bitter out here in the blogworld. :) And thank you for your kind words about my blog and for passing the award along to me. *hugs*

Congratulations Abbie - this award is well-deserved. I like your nitty gritty add-ons to each blog post. It set your blog apart from the rest of us!
Thanks too for passing the award my way too. Blush! I'm particularly touched because I always feel that my blog is caught in the middle of nowhere...it's not mainstream education, not home schooling, not pre-school, not parent, not nature, not playground design etc., just a mashup of a little of all of these with fingers crossed that it works!
