It's the day after Thanksgiving so it is officially acceptable in my house to talk about Christmas!! Yes, I know I have been doing toy reviews for Christmas before this but whatever.
So today with three of the five grand kids we made recycled wrapping paper. No need to buy the expensive store bought paper, just make your own. A craft project and cute paper all at one time!
Just start with brown paper bags. Cut it apart so that it lays out flat and then decorate the non-logo side of the bag! Super simple!!
We had leftover potatoes that didn't get made into mashed potatoes so my sister made some potato stamps for the kids to play with.
The kids used a bit too much paint with the stamps so they didn't work out very well at first but eventually we got the hang of it!
And then the kiddos just went crazy with the paint!

The Nitty Gritty!
You could decorate these bags with anything, it doesn't have to be paint. And I am pretty sure that if you use simple non-toxic paint the bags are still recyclable after they have been used as wrapping paper.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!! Head outside for a hike to work off some of that turkey and pie!
we love making homemade wrapping paper!!!

I've decided that once I use up the wrapping paper I have in the basement, I'm only going to do recycled (well, okay, except maybe for weddings) from here on out! :)
