Today was the last day that I told myself I had to reach the two hour mark outside. It is something that I will continue to strive for everyday but won't force myself to fit it into the schedule. Refering back to my post from Day 95.
I will say that this week has flown by. The girls have been sleeping, including naps, pretty well this week and the days just go by really fast. I think the outside time has certainly played a part in that.
Being outside right now is all about looking at the colors because the trees are just beautiful up here right now and we are really enjoying lots of leaf catching, crunching of leaves and looking for the best leaf.
But the big event from outside time was the pot of dirt. Sam had really come to enjoy her quiet play time in the dirt. She can sit, by herself, perfectly happy with a few tools digging and playing the dirt. However this dirt time ended with the entire pot of dirt being dumped on her head! She had dirt everywhere!!! It was in her eyes, up her nose (I don't entirely know how it traveled UP her nose) and glued to her scalp underneath a mop of hair.
Outside time turned into bath time which turned into the clean the tub time!!
So did you get outside this weekend?

Not much to say about a 2.5 year old covered head to toe in dirt!
Hey, Abbie! Over from SITS~ I love the ideas and theme of your site! I am in the process of 'greening' my family, to use your term, and will definitely be back for more of your great activities! Have a great week!

I wish I could enjoy being outside right now - sadly, the swarms of stinkbugs in Maryland have creeped me out to the point of running to and from my car until they've all hidden away for the winter.
It sounds like you had a great weekend though! I can't wait for my little one to get big enough for dirt parties!

Oh I hate when dirt gets in my girls' hair! It's IMPOSSIBLE to get out! I bet she had a blast playing in the dirt, though :O)

I like that idea, of striving for a certain amount of time outside each day. There wasn't a lot of outdoor play for my kids this weekend due to monsoon like rain. But now that the sun is out...my son will probably have to be coaxed inside once it gets dark.

I actually like it when my girls get in the mud... Sure it takes a while to get it out (especially the hair) but it's worth it for all the fun they're having... ;) I love the fall more than any other season. Up here in Seattle we really have a wonderful fall this year - everything is orange and red as it should be. :)
