Welcome to the daily journey of one mom trying to "green" her girls.
I want to inspire my two girls, Samantha and Avery, to love nature and the world around them the way I do. So I am making a commitment to them and to myself to do one thing nature-related with my girls each day. I will then share what we learned, what worked and what didn't and even share some how-to type information as well.
With warm weather here it is time to be outside. All day. Just outside, no matter what we are doing, just being outside makes it a good day.
So we eat outside.
We go barefoot outside. Together!
And we make discoveries outside.

The day before the snow came the girls and I had a great time with the sidewalk chalk. They drew rainbows, suns and shapes while I wrote out the whole alphabet. Once the alphabet was written I showed the girls how we could sing or say th...
Running along a trail in hot pursuit of great natural treasures!

Some playground play.
And then taking a closer look at Lake Mendota.

So once again this poor blog is taking a back seat to real life. My husband surprised me today with a visit from my two best friends from college. I was floored when the first one walked in with Chris at noon and then completely blown aw...
Here is our snow fort from last year.
It was a GIANT pile created simply by the snowblower clearing off the driveway. We got so much snow and this pile was just screaming for a tunnel.
We played in this tunnel for weeks last year. And ...
