Sneak away from the family party. Take a break for scarfing down Christmas cookies. Pause the Christmas movie. AND GET OUTSIDE! The fresh air will do you good and will certainly be good for your little ones.
Sam and I have been loving the snow. Before we head out on mulitple plane rides and lots of sitting time today I wanted to get Sam outside for just a few minutes to burn off some energy.
Two things that will keep her busy for a long time out in the snow - "track and trail" and "find a home" (just made those names up! what do you think?).
Track a trail is super simple. Find a set of tracks (a trail!) and see where they go (track them!). Yes, Sam has ended up several houses down in someone else's backyard but no one seems to mind and she gets so excited when she can say "mommy that rabbit went under this bush!".
And find a home is also super simple. Places where animals bed down can be so much easier to find in the winter then any other season. I have showed Sam some of the signs but this one certainly takes a little more guidance then just following tracks.
Lots of different ways to explore your backyard in winter. These are just two that we are enjoying right now!
The Nitty Gritty!
No time to share more. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers today that we travel safe! I hate flying, it always makes me nervous, so the more prayers the better!
