Sam had preschool meet the teacher/orientation day today! And let me just say that I am destined to be the parent that NEVER has her kids to school on time. School starts at 8:00am and my kids when they are on their regular schedule do not wake up much before 7:00am. Breakfast takes a good half hour to consume (in the rush of this morning Sam did not actually even get one bite in before we had to load up the car; she is a VERY slow eater!) and getting dressed/doing hair takes almost as long.
This could be quite a struggle until Sam gets into the routine of speedy mornings.
Anyway, her first time at school went great. It was only for an hour today and I stayed in the building, although she couldn't see me for most of the time. She starts two mornings a week next week and we both are very excited!
On our way home from school it was raining so when we got home we put Avery down for a nap and headed back out into the rain. We splashed in puddles, watched leaves float in the water and drew with sidewalk chalk on the wet driveway. It was a brief experience but a good one.
What do you do on rainy days?

Sorry for the brief post today but I have a male invasion happening in my house later tonight with five of my husbands college golf buddies coming into town for as much golf as they can play and a fantasy football draft. Out of town company means I need to make this house look like I am able to keep up with these two kids and husband of mine and that we don't normally live like slobs! HA!
